Visual art and design isn't only a creative development. Furthermore, specific skills in the trades are required to realize projects. My artworks arise, while having recourse to profounded knowledge in most necessary provinces.
Hej, my name is Jakob Porwol and I'm based in Cologne, Germany. I am a visual artist and digital media generalist. After studying media informatics and technical journalism/PR and from time immemorial my passion were audiovisual arts and designs.
At the age of 13 I started to make photographs and began to refine pictures in Photoshop afterwards. I quickly recognized, the possibilities to retouch pictures are endless. So I self-taught learnt the necessary techniques to get a better artist. I also took lessons in design theory, to understand what I am doing.
During my time at the University for Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, I envolved a fascination for moving pictures and audio. Primary for feature film productions, I started to work as an 3d- and visaul artist at a movie production company, specialized on music video and videographical art.
If you like to learn more about me or if you interested in my work, don't hesitate to contact me.
At the age of fourteen I did get an analog compact camera. Back then, almost all cameras did work with film, so mine did. Well, the bad about films is the high limitation of photographs you can make. My first ten or so films were garbage. Almost all pictures were blurred and after a short period they were completely exposed and i needed new ones. This fact made learning photography though.
Then for years i forgot photography and started with music altough I was anymore captivated by photo art. There were a lot of stunning motives slipping away through the years because I didn't had a camera nearby. So nowadays i try to capture all the fascinating pictures and actually the common ones.
